Look at Wightlink and their pricing as it has become extortionate.

What the petition asks

I wanted to go to Portsmouth as my daughter lives there, I cannot due to wighlink's pricing which is a lot of the time is double red funnels pricing!
Wightlink provide ferry crossing to Portsmouth and Lymington from the IOW. As residents we have no choice in using their services if we need to travel to those locations ( Red Funnel who seem to be offering residents a proper discount on occasion to Southampton, however Southampton is not everyone's desired location due to extra travel afterwards) Wightlink have made their prices so high that a lot of the residents can no longer afford to use them, which restricts their travel and plans that are mainland based.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The price of ferry crossings is the responsibility of ferry companies, not the Government or Parliament.

If you would like the Government or Parliament to have the power to regulate ferry prices, you could start a new petition asking for that.
