We want to make St George's Day an English Bank Holiday.

What the petition asks
St George is the patron saint of England and we want to recognise his importance and what he did. It is also the birth and death day of William Shakespeare, an amazing writer. Other countries celebrate their saint day and we think that it is only right that we do the same!
We are a group of children (aged 7-11) from a junior school on the edge of the New Forest in Hampshire. We have given an assembly about this to the entire school and we believe it is a very important matter.
Why it was rejected
