Petition · past parliament

Give a referendum on the EU exit deal before the Article 50 deadline.

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

We think the outcome of the EU referendum was like voting to move house without first having seen the new one. We ask for a referendum on staying in the EU vs accepting the exit deal with sufficient time before the Article 50 deadline to allow us to cancel it should that be the majority decision.
We accept that the exit deal may not be finalised with sufficient time for us to cancel Article 50, should that prove to be the will of the voters, but in that case, we ask that we are given the choice between the exit deal in its likely form and EU membership.
