What the petition asks
I have created this petition to gain support in introducing Oral Health Education back into the UK. As a dental nurse working in the UK I witness the daily effects&trauma that tooth decay in children under the age of 18 causes. I would like to reintroduce OHE into: nurseries, schools&the community.
Facts and figures:
+ More than 128,000 children under 10 had at least 1 tooth removed since 2011-2016
+ Hospitals are at 'crisis point' for children needing teeth extracted under general anaesthetic
+ £30 million spent on hospital based extractions between 2012-2013 on those aged 18 and under
+ 90% of tooth decay was preventable
+ Dental treatment is FREE for those aged under 18
