ban the use of prong and shock collars for dogs within the UK.

What the petition asks
Prong and shock collars can cause psychological and physical harm to dogs even when correctly used and can even precipitate aggression in the animal. At present there is no legislation restricting their use and anyone can apply them to any dog.
Many so called trainers many with few or no qualifications use them and get obedience because the dog is terrified of the pain and distress caused rather than because it has been well trained. Alternative methods are effective see site https://positively.com/dog-training/methods-equipment/training-equipment/choke-and-prong-collars/ for details of the injuries caused by these devices
