Animal Equality Act 2016

What the petition asks
My cat Nushka got ran over by someone speeding in a cul-de-sac, just drove off. Right I don't claim to be an animal lover, but there needs to be some justice, if it was an accident you could at least move the poor injured little cat.
Right I propose a change, that some organisation gets involved to work out whether the injured or killed animal or pet could of been prevented. As the driver could have been drunk, or speeding. Maybe the police, oh wait not them because it's only a Cat. Then the person at fault should be punished like a crime from a human to a human, so long as it could have been prevented. Also to allow for accidents caused by stopping for animals to be a little flexible.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
