I'm a 17 year old student and I pay exactly £24.80 per week to get to college. Public transport companies demand that children 16 and over pay for adult priced tickets. Whilst in full time education, ticket prices should be lowered to ease financial strain on students and their families.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The price of train or bus tickets is the responsibility of train or bus operating companies.

You could start a new petition asking for the Government to provide a travel subsidy for students using trains or buses, which is something the Government could do.
