What the petition asks
A petition which recently passed the committee's scrutiny calling for campaigning for EU membership to be treasonous was an extreme and undemocratic view.
As such this petition was in breach of the committee's own standards in respect of the publication of petitions that are provocative or extreme in their views. The petitions committee has an obligation to all citizens not to publish such petitions which are inciteful and have defined this in their own standards.
