What the petition asks

Anyone who is on universal credit has experienced the delays in payments when first starting a new claim and the repercussions this brings with it! Its a system that clearly just is not working from the staff that cant cope to the regular claimee who cannot have their matters dealt with swiftly.

Im a single mum who was keen to return to work! I had to make a new claim for universal credit as housing benifit had stopped. waiting times to recieve my first payment put me in rent debt and unable to feed my kids. My payments have also now stopped because they havent dealt with my childcare costs claim which is seperate! I now have no rent and no money for food.. and unable to get to my work i worked so hard in getting! Please lets end these issues and get the old system that worked back!

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

Abolish Universal Credit and keep Tax Credits and Child Tax Credits.
