Jail women for falsely accusing men of rape

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

I believe that it isn't fair for men to go to jail or have their lives ruined for being falsely accused of rape. The same rules should apply for the women in which are accusing them of it. Women who falsely accuse men should get a jail sentence the same as what the man would have got for doing so.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We're not sure exactly what you would like the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Making a false allegation of a crime may already in some circumstances lead to a jail sentence - for example, if someone is found guilty of perverting the course of justice. In other cases, people who are accused of making false accusations may be prosecuted for wasting police time.

It is not therefore clear to us how you would like the law to be changed.
