What the petition asks
The current curriculum focuses on tests and results. It is putting unacceptable pressure on young children. Many parents simply want schooling in primary years to focus on social skills, creativity and fun What value is there in creating highly educated but traumatised children?
Mental health issues are soaring in children. Childline has reported a marked increase. Children face many pressures, some of which simply didn't exist for older generations. Piling additional pressures on children through rigorous testing achieves nothing but anxiety for both child and parent.
