Petition · past parliament

UK's publicly funded Museums must close down there Ivory collection galleries.

Rejected 17 signatures

What the petition asks

Liverpool Museum Ivory collection is one of largest in the UK alongside those of the Victoria & Albert and British Museums.
By stating it celebrates art and antiques thus making Ivory a desirable commodity, fueling modern day trade in Ivory.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

This would be a decision for the museums to take, not the UK Government or Parliament.

You could start a new petition asking Parliament to change the law to ban the display of ivory in museums.
