What the petition asks

People are being killed on the roads in the UK due to irresponsible motorists using mobile devices whilst driving. The law should be changed to ensure that any motorist using a mobile device whilst driving should receive an automatic driving disqualification of 6 months for a first time offence.

A driver who recently killed three children and a woman whilst he was distracted whilst using his mobile device received a ten year custodial sentence. He had previously been warned about using a mobile device whilst driving by his employers yet he still continued to flout the law.
