What the petition asks
HMG must take decisive steps to:
1. table a UN SC resolution establishing a commission of experts on genocide and then establishing an ad hoc tribunal; or
2. table a UN SC resolution referring the situation in Syria and Iraq (as caused by Daesh since 2014) to the International Criminal Court.

Daesh is responsible for genocidal atrocities on minorities, including Christians, Yazidis, and other religious minorities, in the Middle East and beyond. This genocide was recognized by the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, and the US, Australian, and Canadian governments. In April 2016, the House of Commons called upon HMG to take the lead at the UN SC. This steps has not been taken yet and is urgently needed to end impunity and to ensure that justice is served.
