Student rent should be lowered and not exceed £300-£350

What the petition asks
Student rent is really expensive. There should be a cap on how much rent you should pay as a student.
Maintance loan doesn't cover everything let alone your rent even if you come from a low income family
Students at best have a part time job normally at minimum wage
Landlords and letting agents rip off students- you have to pay for everything and once they have your money they don't care.
They think as a student you won't and can't do anything.
On top of the loan you have to pay back you also have to try and figure out how to pay your rent.. This sometimes doesn't include bills.

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Student rents are not the responsibility of the Government and Parliament. They are the responsibility of whoever is providing the accommodation - e.g., private landlords, universities, and so on.
