What the petition asks
It is estimated that 12 BILLION receipts are issued in the UK alone each year and most end up in the bin.
By opting to not have your receipt you could help save Rainforests from deforestation, reduce waste, reduce oil and water consumption and help conserve this planet. Retailers also reduce costs.

There is no requirement under the sale and supply of goods act 1994 act to supply a receipt to prove that a contract exists between buyer and seller, nor is there any requirement to provide physical evidence of any kind, except for the faulty goods/purchase.
