Petition · past parliament
Cap petrol and diesel prices at £1 per litre.
Rejected
17 signatures
What the petition asks
The cost of living is increasing, so people work harder and travel further to make ends meet. The associated costs of driving are not helped by continued high petrol and diesel prices. Before tax and fuel duty are applied, it costs under 40p a litre. These additional costs must be capped.

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The Government and Parliament don't decide directly on fuel prices. You could start a new petition calling for the tax on fuel to be reduced.
