What the petition asks

The conference, which is set to take place in New York with the first session in March 2017, represents a significant opportunity to make real progress towards a worldwide nuclear weapons ban.

Whilst repeatedly claiming to support multilateral nuclear disarmament, successive governments appear to have done very little towards actually bringing it about. The forthcoming United Nations conference is an opportunity for this government to send out a message globally that it is serious about achieving a world free of nuclear weapons.
