What the petition asks
Bus-fair is rising exponentially yet no additions to the service are coming with this rise in price.
Many citizens rely on busses to get to and from work and when they are late this can cause people to be late for work, which can lead to sanctions and loss of earnings.

I once lost a potential job due to being late during a probation period because of a late bus.
Bus drivers are often defensive when asked why they are late and any other service that is not provided at its expected level is offered at a discounted rate.
The working class people of this country have enough outgoings to contend with without the rise in price of a substandard service. Make public transport open to the public again.

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Bus fares are not set by the UK Government. Local bus operators (bus companies) are free to set their own fares.
You could start a new petition, asking Parliament to change the law to require all bus companies to do this.
