What the petition asks
After his passing, it has come to our knowledge that George Michael was very very generous to charities, combine that with his musical achievements he should be awarded an OBE
Why it was rejected
It was about honours or appointments, which petitions cannot cover.
We can't accept your petition because it asks for someone to be nominated for an honour.
Members of the public can nominate people for honours directly. You can find out how to nominate someone for an honour here:
https://www.gov.uk/honours
However, at the moment it is not possible for honours to be awarded posthumously. You may wish to sign this petition if you want honours to be awarded posthumously: Government to reform the honours system to include posthumous awards
