Introduce Ombudsman for Future Generations & UN Sustainable Development Goals
Closed
262 signatures
What the petition asks
The UK government agreed to 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, including: environmental protection, reducing emissions, clean energy, responsible consumption & production. An Ombudsman to protect the future of humanity against climate change is needed. As is clear policy to enable accountability.
The government must act fast to provide baseline statistics. There must be procedure in place so that those acting against climate change for future generations can be made accountable. An action plan and policy must be clear and transparent. Management of SDGs and climate action must not come under the umbrella of Dept. Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, it requires its own leader and must be woven into all other departments as it affects all other departments.
