What the petition asks
Sanitary towels and Tampons are seen as 'luxury' items and therefore has a VAT tax on them. Having your period is not a choice, it is not a luxury to prevent yourself from bleeding through clothes.
On average, women spend £6,000 in their lifter on sanitary products, and £2,000 on pain relief.
