Make all public car parking spaces bigger than they currently are
Rejected
16 signatures
What the petition asks
All to often car drivers are hitting the parked car next to them with the doors whilst trying to enter or exit their car because the spaces are not wide enough. A normal sized car can just fit in between the lines but extra space for opening the doors has not been thought about.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Most public car parking spaces are the responsibility of individual local councils.
You could start a new petition asking for the UK Government to amend the planning guidance to increase the minimum size for car parking spaces, or for a specific minimum size to be made mandatory by law.
