Petition · past parliament
Free 15min parking per session in all local authority designated parking areas.

What the petition asks
Often drivers feel they have received a parking ticket for staying only a few seconds over there designated period. There a distrust between drivers and local authorities, drivers believing that they are being penalised by Councils raising parking fees to cover other council spending.
Councils made a surplus of £635million on parking in 2013/14
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
This would be a decision for local councils, not the UK Government or Parliament. You could start a new petition calling on Parliament to change the law, to require all councils to offer 15 minutes of free parking in all local authority parking spaces.
