What the petition asks
A school leaver with top grades vs a middle aged individual with no qualifications - who deems it fair to give the school leaver £3.20 less just because of their age? Just because they don't have as much life experience? How is it justifiable to disadvantage minors? WE are the future generation!
Here is the table of the minimum wages. Here you can see a difference between the lowest and highest category of ages. A huge unjustifiable £4 difference in places?
Year 25 and over 21 to 24 18 to 20 Under 18 Apprentice
(current rate) £7.20 £6.95 £5.55 £4.00 £3.40
April 2017 £7.50 £7.05 £5.60 £4.05 £3.50
For example here, say a teenager who is studying at collage 4 days a week lands themselves a part time weekend job; that's 16 hours at £4. £64 a week. £256 a month. It's slavery!
