What the petition asks
Wayne Moores was twenty eight. He was killed by a 'hit and run' drink driver, who was speeding and illegally undertaking another vehicle. He was left to die in the road. His killer was charged with ‘Careless Driving whilst under the influence...’ and was out of prison within 3 years.
Drink driving is never 'careless' it is must be considered automatically dangerous. Anything less is weak, offensive and insulting to the memory of those killed. It undervalues their lives by calling this crime a driving offence and is not proprtionate as the government states. Killing someone is not a 'driving offence', it is 'manslaughter'.
