What the petition asks
Until the order is revoked, UK must pledge: To call on US govt to reverse the ban; No US-UK government visits; No talks on US-UK trade & migration; Full legal support to UK citizens & businesses affected; To welcome refugees refused entry to USA; To stand up for religious freedom and human rights
On 27 January 2017, US President Donald Trump signed an Executive Order putting in place a 90-day block on entry to the US from citizens from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Libya and Somalia. The ban applies to those already settled in the US as well as those travelling there, and people in transit (including at least 1 child) have been detained at airports on the US border within 24 hours of signature. UK citizens are also covered by the ban if they are connected with one of these countries.
