Allow all councils to raise council tax by 10% to fund adult social care

Rejected 17 signatures

What the petition asks

Government are failing the adults in this country that rely on social care. People are struggling to keep loved ones at home with out this help. The government are capping the amount of money it pays care providers at £15.64 per hour. The social care industry will collapse under the strain.
At some point in their lives everyone will need the help of social care especially if they wish to remain at home. People are already having the essential care they need being reduced dramatically. The government will put no more money into social care, but the government can make all councils raise council tax by 10% and put all of this extra revenue straight back into the care system. In this country people should not have to beg for help. It needs to end now.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure whether you want council's to be made to increase council tax by 10% or to be allowed to do so.

You could start a new petition that asks for councils to be allowed to raise council tax by 10% without a local referendum, or you could accept a petition that asks for councils to be required to do this.
