What the petition asks
The aesthetics industry is poorly regulated and the number of non-medics offering dermal filler injections in the UK is growing rapidly. Concern lies mainly with theses individual's ability to assess appropriately as well as recognise and manage complications as and when they arise.
Health professionals in the U.K are concerned about the growing number of non-medics offering dermal filler injections. Anyone can train, get insurance and start injecting members of the public with these substances. There are substantial risks associated with these treatments and whilst doctors and nurses are regulated by their own professional bodies, non-medics are not. They are not regulated or professionally accountable.
