Invoke article 50 then immediately leave the EU without negotiation
Rejected
19 signatures
What the petition asks
Article 50 of the Lisbon treaty should be invoked immediately. Once initiated the UK should withdraw from the EU without negotiation and immediately start to implement new trade deals with the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
Waiting two years for negotiations to complete from the date of initiation will cause years of economic and political turmoil, stagnation and uncertainty. By leaving the EU immediately without European consent the UK will be able to sign trade deals with countries it has historic and cultural ties that were formerly part of the Commonwealth and British Empire.
