Compulsory Mindfulness in all Primary Schools

What the petition asks
The current education system is destroying our children;it is a system driven by standardised assessments. This is not the education our children need; they need a system that is concerned about their mental wellbeing, not just test scores. The statistics for children's mental health are overwhelming
1 in 10 children aged between 5-16years has a mental health problem. It is predicted that mental health illness is to be one of the major health burdens of the coming decade. We have a social responsibility for the wellbeing of the next generation. The system is not going to change, but compulsory MINDFULNESS for all primary children could provide them with vital tools to protect their mental wellbeing. Mindfulness has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety and bad behaviour and improve self-esteem.
