What the petition asks
domestic violence sentencing is too short or none at all. That leaves the victims With no justice or can't move on. Why should they have to suffer? Please help sign & help victims get their justice or even help stop domestic violence. Thankyou
I melody moon previously went through domestic violence by my ex partner and nearly died & he got 2 years surspended sentance.
Too many people can't get justice due to our justice system.
We need to do more to help our victims, get them justice we deserve & help stop future domestic violence

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Sentences in specific cases are the responsibility of the courts, not the UK Government or Parliament. You could start a new petition asking Parliament to change the law, to set specific minimum sentences for people convicted of domestic violence offences.
