Government to prevent local councils cease funds to maintain bowling facilities

What the petition asks
Britain has an ageing population. Withdrawing funding will result in older and vulnerable people in our society becoming less mobile and lose their only social contact. We want our national government to step in to prevent the destruction of this valuable sporting and recreational facilities.
Many local councils are planning to withdraw funding to maintain bowling greens. This short sighted action will have a knock on effect of less mobile, less fit elderly people. The consequences are an increased demand on NHS and care facilities.
