What the petition asks

Currently any person can repair their own or anyone else's vehicle with no training or experience of motor vehicles. Eg replace their brake with disastrous or fatal results. Other trades are regulated to stop untrained people from carrying out dangerous repair work Eg gas fitters and elections

13% of road accidents are cause by mechanical failure or poorly service vehicles. Regulation would cut accidents and possibly save lives
