What the petition asks
On 6th February John Bercow sought to block President of the United States Donald Trump from speaking in the House of Commons. Such a move constitutes an excessive preach of his conventions as speaker, with major complications for British Foreign Policy. He should be relieved of his duty
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
There is no mechanism for the removal of a Speaker during a Parliament. Other than at a general election, the Speaker can only stop being Speaker through resignation or death.
