Petition · past parliament

Remove Mr Bercow as Speaker of the House of Commons for a breach of neutrality.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Breaching the principal of neutrality, Mr Bercow has randomly, unjustifiably & hypocritically insulted the President of the USA, our greatest ally, at a time when he has extended the hand of friendship.

He should be replaced with someone suitable for & capable of doing the job properly.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

There is no mechanism for the removal of a Speaker during a Parliament. Other than at a general election, the Speaker can only stop being Speaker through resignation or death.

If you like, you could sign the petition below, which asks the House of Commons to debate a vote of no confidence in the Speaker:

Petition the House to debate a vote of no confidence in Mr Speaker Bercow.
