Petition · past parliament

Replace Speaker Bercow, without any further undue delay.

Rejected 20 signatures

What the petition asks

He has abused his position, and he and his wife have brought his Parliamentary Office into ignominious disrepute.

Why it was rejected

It was about honours or appointments, which petitions cannot cover.

There is no mechanism for the removal of a Speaker during a Parliament. Other than at a general election, the Speaker can only stop being Speaker through resignation or death.

If you like, you could sign the petition below, which asks the House of Commons to debate a vote of no confidence in the Speaker:

Petition the House to debate a vote of no confidence in Mr Speaker Bercow.
