What the petition asks

The £3.5bn extra in England by 2020, not enough. Similar amount cut from SC budgets since 2010. Extra would not solve the longer term problems of caring for a population which is continuing to age.

NHS England funding crisis deepens, with trusts forecasting a £2.3bn deficit by end of the FY.
More than half trust finance directors (53%) believe care provided is deteriorating. Most trusts fear they will not be able to meet nationally imposed caps on spending. 9/10 hospitals and 2/3 health trusts forecasting deficits. 2/3 trusts now reliant on reserves extra help from DOH
1/11 patients waited 4 hours+ worst since 2003. BMS head “Its clear government is managing the NHS into greater deficit by cutting resources & expecting service improvements at a time of rising demand.”
