What the petition asks
Make personal finance a core subject through educat. This subject would cover interest rates on various bank accounts and the benefits for each. The subject would also inform students the risks of loans and credit cards and the correct way to keep a positive credit score.
Students are leaving school without knowledge on personal finances and how best to manage their funds. General knowledge on council tax, mortgage rates and many more essential finance information is never taught, and therefore left to learn themselves over their young adulthood. Misinformation regarding loans and credit cards can cripple a young adults future credit scores, therefore effecting them for major life decisions.
