What the petition asks
All early years setting are being given a rate for this 30hours that they cannot remain open with. Why not increase the hourly rates to improve quality in the sector so we can pay our staff better wages? Also provide 20 hours?
Over the past year the sector has seen a drastic price increase of out goings to pensions, living wage and corporate tax. Also paying for staff DBS checks, training for paediatric first aid, first aid at work & food hygiene. All requirements that are set out by the statutory framework for us to run safe and secure settings. Living wage will be increasing in April how is this going to be paid for? This will come at the cost of quality, a big decline in careers and people leaving the profession!
