What the petition asks
English courts no longer have TEETH! Due to its overly lenient & PC guidelines & interference, The 'Sentencing Council' has seriously undermined public confidence in our Courts.Tying the hands of judges by having them put Political Correctness before common sense & appropriate punishment
Forcing courts to follow these guidelines is preventing judges from handing down the prescribed penalties, fines & or custodial sentences (described in various criminal legislations & acts) as they were originally intended by the acts of Parliament.
The Council exists to ensure consistency of sentencing, clarification of court processes and sentencing for the victims and the public, and to increase public confidence in the criminal justice system. It has failed completely to do this.
