What the petition asks
As a country we need to be respected for our justice. We will not be respected all the time some in high places like Prime Ministers are above the law. Serious crime must be open to prosecution and only malicious prosecution should be prohibited or that intended to frustrate government functioning.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. It is already possible for former ministers to be prosecuted for crimes, so we're not sure what you would like to change. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
