Petition · past parliament
Privatisation of the BBC; abolition of the licence fee; proceeds to fund the NHS

What the petition asks
Those receiving television services in the UK are required to pay for the BBC, even if not supporting or viewing it; that is not fair. Commercial alternatives are subject to unfair competition from this funding mechanism. The NHS would benefit from an injection of funding from the sale of the BBC.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
