Rejected 20 signatures

What the petition asks

Great Britain has competed in every wheelchair rugby tournament at the Paralympic Games since it entered the official program in 2000.
However, UK Sport has rejected wheelchair rugby's appeal against its funding cut for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic cycle.
Great Britain has competed in every wheelchair rugby tournament at the Paralympic Games, since it entered the official program in 2000.

Great Britain finished fifth in the wheelchair rugby competition at both the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Paralympics.

However, the British team did win gold at the European Championship in 2015.
We are petitioning that the UK Athletics give full backing in order that GB can send a team to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do: for example asking the Government to work with UK Sport and UK Athletics to reverse funding cuts for wheelchair rugby.
