What the petition asks
The NHS is under increasing financial pressure and missing targets for waiting times at A+E and for operations. The NHS should not be put in a position to treat an overseas patient and then have to fight to claim the money back which is sometimes not paid.
All visitors to the country should hold proof of private medical insurance or are refused entry into the country.I believe that some countries around the world already have a system like this in place and it is about time that the UK caught up with the rest of the modern world to avoid more strain on an already stretched NHS.
