What the petition asks
Councils are increasingly starting to charge for waste deemed as non-household waste despite deriving from a household. This includes, rubble, plasterboard, sanitary ware, drainage pipes etc. This is not cost effective and will increase the amount of fly tipping. This excludes commercial derived waste
Staffordshire county council charge £6 to dispose of a toilet with cistern.
£3 per bag of rubble or plasterboard. etc view their website for more details.
Councils should aim to encourage recycling and correct disposal of waste, not discourage it by charging.
