What the petition asks
An investigation by The UN Convention on The Rights of Persons With Disabilities found"reliable evidence that the threshold of grave or systematic violations of the rights of persons with disabilities has been met"Things have continued to get worse including increase in suicides.This needs addressed
There were recommendations from the report including that the Government "Take appropriate measures to combat any negative and discriminatory stereotypes or prejudice against persons with disabilities in public and the media,". This week George Freeman MP demonstrated by his comments that he does not treat invisible illness such as anxiety with the same respect as visible disabilities. The UK Gov must under the Disability Discrimination Act treat both physical and mental illness with parity.
