Introduce presumed consent for organ donation

Rejected 14 signatures

What the petition asks

I have had an autoimmune disease since I was 15 and over the years this has caused irreversible cirrhosis to my liver and I am now on the liver transplant waiting list.
On average, three people die every day waiting for an organ to be donated.

The majority of Britons support organ donation and want to donate and yet a mere 29% of us are on the register.
Data from the Welsh Government confirms the benefit of the Opt-Out System implemented in 2015:
- 53% of organs donated via deemed consent (32/60 organs)
- Rise: 50% liver transplants; 19% kidney transplants; 63% cardiothoracic transplants
- 38% drop in patients awaiting transplant between 2010/11 & 2015/16
The Opt-Out Systems clearly SAVE lives.
