What the petition asks
Make spam emails, texts, phone calls and other forms of spam illegal. It is extremely annoying and frustrating when you receive non-stop alerts on your device from spammers.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We're not sure what action you would like us to take. Under the the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, it is already illegal to send unsolicited marketing communications via text, phone call or email.
