Another Scottish independence referendum should be allowed to happen

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

Whether you like it or not the SNP ran their 2016 campaign on a manifesto which included the right to another referendum.

They have a mandate.

This petition is a demonstration of the will of the people in Scotland, that we should have a second independence referendum.
"if there is a significant and material change in the circumstances that prevailed in 2014, such as Scotland being taken out of the EU against our will" - SNP manifesto 2016 under "Right to a referendum".

The SNP were elected on this manifesto into a minority government in Holyrood, winning 46.5% and 41.7% of the constituency and regional votes respectively. (Contrasted with the Conservatives' 36.9% in 2015 (Westminster) which lead to the in/out EU referendum)
